In the Covid-induced job market, upGrad aims to carry out mass recruitment from around 100 campus, including metros and tier 2 and 3 cities, as well as recruit from its own learners’ pool.
Amidst Covid-19 stricken market, upGrad has announced its plan to hire over 1000 employees to address its growing demand in the upcoming quarter.
The three months will see the Edtech hire across departments including learning experience, delivery, marketing and program, with sales remaining predominant. upGrad also plans to hire from its own learner’s pool through their recruitment program called upGrad Rekrut.
Arjun Mohan, CEO India, upGrad said, “Our hiring plan is a result of the rapid growth that we have seen in the last 18 months. With global expansions taking shape, we are all set to ramp up our support & business teams to continue meeting the strong demand for ’Life-Long Learning’ that we are experiencing.”
New sales staff will work out of ‘Temporary Safe Workplace Bubbles’ based at hotel properties in major cities like Mumbai and Bangalore, for now, with plans to expand in cities like Hyderabad, Delhi, and Kolkata.“
The idea to have fresh recruits come from tier II and III cities is to accelerate employability not just in metros but remotest corners of the country,” Mohan added.
Recently, the company also announced its ambition to close March 2022 at – half-a-billion-dollar Revenue Run Rate, and this hiring drive is expected to propel its growth in the right direction.
